Raggity Rug Design
Meet the Maker
Hi, I'm Terry—the hands and heart behind Raggity Rug Design.
I was born and raised on a farm out in South Dakota, where we didn’t waste a thing and learned early on how to make do and make it beautiful. I come from a long line of weavers—three generations deep—and some of my earliest memories are of watching my grandpa at his loom and helping Mom tear rags and roll balls for the next rug.
These days I call central Iowa home, and I carry on that family tradition by turning worn-out clothes and household textiles into handwoven rag rugs. Everything I make is crafted from upcycled materials—because I still believe what’s old can be made useful again.
To me, a rug isn’t just something to walk on. It’s a piece of home. It brings warmth, charm, and a story to wherever it’s laid—be it your kitchen, your porch, or tucked into your camper for weekend getaways.
If you’re like me and care about giving things a second chance, then you’ll feel right at home here. And if you’ve got a particular color or size in mind, contact me—I’d be happy to make something just for you.
Let’s keep good things out of the landfill and weave a little love and legacy back into our homes.
Feel free to take a look around the shop—and follow along on social media to see what’s fresh off the loom!
